As Minecraft 1.12 continues to be developed for general release, another snapshot has been released. The 17w16b snapshot is said to be the last one that will bring new functionality. From this point on the development teams will be focusing on rooting out any bugs and putting the finishing touches on 1.12. What has been addressed in both 17w16a and 17w16b below is from the Minecraft.net website.

- Added a message whenever the Narrator isn’t available
- Added anti-stick coating to Glazed Terracotta
- Added keybinding options for creative toolbar saving
- Added tutorial hints, they only show in survival mode & only once

- Technical: Added ‘group’ to recipe json format, to clump similar recipes together
- Technical: Added new ‘keybind’ text component, to refer to the player’s keybindings

- Fixed bug MC-111753 – Hopper/Dropper will not input water bottles into brewing stand after potions have been removed by a hopper from brewing stand
- Fixed bug MC-115805 – Fences/panes/walls/bars/torches connect to a number of non-solid blocks
- Fixed bug MC-116357 – Some items appear multiple times in the recipe book
- Fixed bug MC-116365 – The “conditional” setting no longer works for command blocks
- Fixed bug MC-116372 – Chain command blocks set to “needs redstone” still executes without signal
- Fixed bug MC-116388 – Chain command blocks can clone themselves to create an infinite loop which freezes the server
- Fixed bug MC-116432 – Server crashed when leaving items on crafting table with full inventory
